The therapies I use are those that have beneficial impact on how people run their behaviors. Just being conscious that you are running a behavior, habit or addiction that you don't like, in most cases, isn't enough to enable you to change. Most of our behaviors are running on an unconscious (or subconscious) level. This is where the changes need to take place so the problem disappears. Much like upgrading or changing a program running on your computer, the subconscious accepts the directions and makes the change. I often tape the hypnosis part of a session so clients can reinforce this new way of being, thinking, acting. We've found that the subconscious mind likes repetition for long term change.
